Main tips to get this shot
1) Use a black fabric as backdrop (or something that doesn't refleclect light).
2) Focus (manually!) on the smoke.
3) Use an external light/flash located behind and at some side of the scene (avoiding entering light on your frame).
4) Try with different camera settings!

What can I say, I've got the 2nd and 3rd place too! :)
See my previous post to read more about this challenge.
BTW: I've proposed "Autumn" (or "Fall") as the topic for June, everyone is invited to post their work! (just in Spanish I suppose). Read More!

I've started to work on this new one, but as you can see there is a lot to do... eventually everything will work again.
Ok, this is a photo related blog (nor an HTML/CSS blog) so let's focus on this image, dedicated to my friend Marcela. As you can see this is a long exposition image, here you have the tech details.

Da Vinci, Leonardo
If you still have landscapes lake this around go there and enjoy it... while it lasts:
“Wildness and silence disappeared from the countryside, sweetness fell from the air, not because anyone wished them to vanish or fall but because throughways had to floor the meadows with cement to carry the automobiles which advancing technology produced.”

Most of my posts are written in English because English is the "Universal Language" and I want to reach the whole world! ;) So why I have the US Flag as the 1st choice even when posts are written in English? Because sometimes comments are posted in Spanish, Portuguese or Italian... so clicking on the US flag will give you "full" English. :)
Note: even tags are translated so you can have a better idea about the image... you can even click on them and google will do its job! :)
So... very nice flags but where is the image of today? Wait! I will come up with something soon!
Espere! Ya vendré con algo pronto!
Tradução (Portuguese)
Plenty of people (at least 5 persons in last 2 weeks!) asked for Translation of my blog, so here you have: Automatic Translation by Google . Please don't click on the above flags to get your translation because this is just (part of) a screenshot! The actual Translation Flags are located on every page ( at the very bottom ), just above of my Copyright note (as you see it in the image at the top of this post).

Married

"There is nothing nobler or more admirable than when two people who see eye to eye keep house as man and wife, confounding their enemies and delighting their friends."
Homer

And the last quote is dedicated to Paola and Victor after our small talk today:

Well, we all love sunsets (and sunrises). They make peaceful landscapes able to transport us to those places so we can almost smell the surrounding nature!
That's why i'm posting two different sunsets, hope you like them.
River & Forest

Sea & Beach
... but I'm not sure which one i would choose, how about you? :)
And now a Jawaharlal Nehru (Indian Prime Minister. 1889-1964) quote i like:
“Peace is not a relationship of nations. It is a condition of mind brought about by a serenity of soul. Peace is not merely the absence of war. It is also a state of mind. Lasting peace can come only to peaceful people.” Read More!
